Bill Murphy brings a lifetime of Audio Recording, Sound Design, Broadcasting and Live Music experience and more to Murphonics Home Theater. Originating in 1982 at legendary Rock radio station WSHE-FM in Miami, FL as a young on-air personality, Bill stayed very close to the Pro A/V industry throughout his career as a recording engineer, air talent, voiceover artist, performer, live music mixer, audio editing instructor, integrator and podcast host eventually leading to his most recent role as GM of US Sales for Let’s Get Physical Distribution, Inc, overseeing Sales and Support for prestigious BluRay Player and Digital Media Player brands from 2019-2025. Given his experience on stages, in recording studios, and in front of every piece of audio gear imaginable for over four decades, the magic of pristine home theater audio and video was an easy and obvious next move. Construction on Bill’s “hybrid” recording studio/home theater in Fort Lauderdale began in 2022 in an effort to, according to Bill “replicate what customers are seeing and hearing for myself to make it easy to relate to the experience.” “I started out with a combination of the most affordable speakers I could find and “repurposed” vintage subwoofers and amps I’d collected along the way in various jobs. Once I saw and heard the incredible performance from R_volution and MAG Theatron first hand, there was no turning back! Now I understand what all the excitement is about. Now I know what really works to bring the commercial theater feeling into a well-designed room in your own house!” Bill’s private studio/theater is available for demo sessions that bring the very best out of the gear he represents. “It’s a very physical experience! I’m asked all the time if there are drivers built into the three theater seats.”
